At Viblock we hate waste. The industry standard is to allow for approximately 15% onsite wastage from poor packaging, split faces and dimensional inconsistency. We can’t create more affordable and more sustainable housing with that approach, so we are relentless in our manufacturing discipline. This means less carbon used, less time wasted sorting through defected product on site and less construction waste to landfill.

Supply Certainty

Our end-to-end local supply-chain provides delivery confidence for your next order. Our general product range is held in stock at our Alexandra and Christchurch sites. With our established transport network, orders are typically on site ready for construction within three days. For architectural products; coloured masonry & secondary processing (honed, split, rumbled or textured products) we require a lead time of typically 6 weeks. In either case, operating independently of global supply chains means our products are always on site when you need them.

Dimensional Reliability

We are relentless in our manufacturing discipline. Brick after brick, block after block, we turn out dimensionally consistent products. This manufacturing rigour has enabled us to reduce wastage by 9%, resulting in less carbon used and less construction waste to landfill.
In addition, this reliable consistency means our trade clients are now reducing or eliminating contingency in their orders. They do this safe in the knowledge that if something does go wrong, additional supply can be delivered rapidly.

Accreditation

Viblock manufactures all structural masonry products following ASNZ4455 with independent testing to AS/NZ4456 from an IANZ-accredited lab. With appropriate design, construction and maintenance, Viblock masonry products demonstrate compliance with;

B1- Structure:  Performance clauses B1.3.1 to B1.3.4
B2- Durability:  Performance clauses B2.3.1(a) and B2.3.2.
E2- External moisture:  Performance clauses E2.3.2 and E2.3.3
F2- Hazardous materials:  Performance clauses F2.3.
C6- Structural stability during fire:  Performance clauses C6

Efflorescence

Efflorescence is a naturally occurring phenomena associated with all Concrete products. At Viblock eliminating the risk of efflorescence and the visual issues it can create is always front of mind. Our manufacturing processes have all but eliminated the occurrence of efflorescence in our products and we provide comprehensive guidelines from delivery to sealing (refer Viblock Care of Masonry, Pavers sheets and the paving laying guide). Laying and sealing by a licensed trade professional is recommend and we’re more than happy to recommend an installer in your area.
